This Digital IR Photo from Queen Lili’uokalani Park: Liona-Lion: Standing their in the open, she had wanted to see the sky, and feel strong like the Lion in the park. The stars were like tiny pricks of light against the  deeper black and blue sky.  There were billions of bright stars far far away. The stars stretched on forever unlike her life. In the clearing in the park where she stood she felt to small. She could smell the scents of the sea, the trees, the earth and the clean fresh air. The tall trees cast shadows around her like the people in her life. She felt like she was in a big clearing that was very dark and silent and yet rich with latent shadows and possibilities. She could feel life coming towards her and she wanted to go towards it too. She was uncertain of the road or the trail or if she would ever reach where she was going. There seemed to be dark shapes around her with unknown intent.  She was scared but moved forward through her tears, hoping for the courage of the lion.
